We have two offices located in Philadelphia.

Trend Eye Care is one of the largest optical stores in Philadelphia, carrying over 1,000 different brands of glasses and contact lens styles. Our optometrists and opticians are dedicated to provide the best vision care in the city, but correcting your eyesight is just the beginning of what we do. Our eye doctors are dedicated to preserving their patients' eye health, from children to seniors.

Our Eye Care Vision Services

All vision care begins with an eye exam, both to find the right prescription to correct your vision and to check for possible eye diseases that may be forming. While eye disease is more common as patients get older, they can appear in people of all ages. Some of the more common problems our doctor will check your eyes for:

  • Cataracts, where the lens of the eye becomes cloudy and, eventually, impossible to see through
  • Macular degeneration, where the eye loses the ability to focus in the center of the field of vision
  • Diabetic retinopathy, where the retina itself begins to break down, causing blurred vision and possible blindness
  • Glaucoma, where the pressure inside the eye rises, causing damage to the eyesight

Most eye diseases can be diagnosed before you notice any symptoms. In fact, the earlier our doctor diagnoses a problem, the easier and more effective a treatment will be. This is the number one reason why it's important to schedule recommended eye examinations as often as the doctor recommends. If you're diagnosed with one of these conditions, our doctors of optometry will offer treatment options designed to improve or save your vision to the extent possible.

While we offer an extensive variety of contact lenses and glasses, some patients prefer a more permanent solution. Our doctors offer LASIK consultation, both before and after the procedure. We accept almost every vision and medical insurance policy in the area, and are open seven days a week.

Our Contact Lenses Services

If you are a first time contact lens wearer (or hope to be), your initial exam will determine if contact lenses are the right vision correction device for you. Your evaluation will include measuring your vision and determining what type and strength of lens you need to see clearly, then consulting with one of our eye doctors on whether contact lenses can meet your vision correction needs.

Here are some of the types of contact lenses offered at Trend Eye Care at Northern Liberties and Trend Eye Care II near Temple University:

  • Rigid gas permeable lenses, a rigid gas permeable lens maintains its pre-set shape instead of conforming to the cornea underneath.
  • Toric lenses -  is specially shaped and weighted so that it won't shift or rotate its position on the cornea and often recommended  for astigmatism

  • Bifocal and multifocal lenses - Our Philadelphia optometrists can fit you with multifocal contact lenses that provide these corrections for both eyes -- or monovision lenses that put the near correction in one eye and the distance correction in the other.
  • Transition Lenses (Light-to-Dark Contact Lenses) - Contacts lens that get darker out door in the sunlight. Great for daytime driving, night driving and outdoor activities such as running, golf and biking
